    Kaitlyn Aiken - Ms. Aiken graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelors degree in Psychology.   She is passionate about working with kids and has been as long as she can remember.  It means the world to her to have the opportunity to have a positive impact in the lives of the kids at WCHE.

    Erika Durham - Mrs. Durham has been married 21 years to Brett Durham who also works in the district as a Special Services Coordinator.  Mrs. Durham has two beautiful children:  Sean, 18, and Elizabeth, 11.  This is Mrs. Durham’s 4th year with WCHE and her 9th year in Education.  She is excited for another wonderful year with her Special Education team and can’t wait to see her kids.  For fun, she attended Le Cordon Bleu to learn how to make French pastries.  

    Rachel Gilley – Ms. Gilley joined Team Tiger this year and is really excited to work with our West Cypress students.  Ms. Gilley is one of our Special Education Instructional Aides who spends her day helping to make learning fun for our Tigers.  Ms. Gilley has a daughter who is a 1st grade Tiger and a daughter who is a 2nd grade Tiger.

    Mouna Hashem – Ms. Hashem and her husband live in Lakeway. She has 2 sons. One graduated from Lake Travis High School. Ms.Hashem earned a Psychology degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She is an accomplished, professional with 20 years’ experience in business management, educational, and nonprofit fields. This is her 6th year at LTISD, 2 of which worked in an ABA/G3 classroom here at WCHE.

    Chareese Hatfield -- Hello Tigers! I am Mrs. Hatfield, and I am so excited for this school year. This is my 5th year as a WCHE Tiger. I am married with two boys.  One is a WCHE Tiger in fourth grade, and one is an LTMS Knight in sixth grade. I have a beautiful black English Lab named Prince. When I am not with my wonderful students, I love to spend time doing anything outdoors. I also love being on the lake, running with Prince, watching my boys play sports, swimming, and traveling to the beautiful Texas Coast and Colorado. I am looking forward to getting to know you, spending time with you in class, and watching you grow so much this year.

    Shereen Hayat –  Before joining the West Cypress faculty a few years ago, Ms. Hayat frequently worked with West Cypress students as a substitute teacher.  She enjoyed her days so much that she decided to join Team Tiger as a fulltime Special Education Instructional Aide.  Ms. Hayat’s daughter used to be a Tiger but is now an LTMS Knight.

    Faith Hernandez – Ms. Hernandez has worked for some time with the Lake Travis Independent School District to assist Special Education students as an Instructional Aide and in our after school Extended Care program.  This is Ms. Hernandez’s first year working with WCHE Tigers, and she is very excited to be a part of Team Tiger.

    Cara McElderry – Mrs. McElderry earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Loyola University and holds a graduate degree in Special Education studies from Loyola as well.  She has taught in Maryland, New York, and in Texas for a total of 21 years.  She and her husband have 3 children who attend LTISD schools.

    Emily McMurray – I moved to Austin 9 years ago from Chicago, IL. I am married to my husband, Matt, my daughter Keira is 9 years old, and my son Kellan is 7 years old. Keira will be entering the 4th grade for the 2021-2022 school year, and Kellan will be entering second grade. I taught preschool for 4 years before joining the Tiger family. The 2021-2022 school year will be my second at WCHE, and I am so looking forward to another great year!

    Andrew Mere – Mr. Mere is new to West Cypress Hills Elementary and is excited to be on Team Tiger.  His son is, also, a WCHE Tiger.  Mr. Mere assists students to become successful learners and enjoys seeing their progress.  WCHE is excited to have Mr. Mere on our staff.

    Kira Moler - Ms. Moler earned her bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders and her master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology from San Francisco State University.  She has 12 years of experience working with children as an SLP and 6 years of experience working specifically with students with Autism.  She is passionate about helping students build social awareness skills in order to connect more easily with others.  Ms. Moler came to Austin via Northern California.  In her free time she loves to cook, hike, travel, go to concerts, and explore all that Austin has to offer with her husband. 

    Jami Perez --  I just moved here this summer from the Houston area, so this is my first year in LTISD. I have always wanted to live in the Austin area, so I am super happy to be here. I am starting my 10th year as an LSSP (Licensed Specialist in School Psychology) and will be dividing my time between WCHE and RHE. I have 3 children - Ben, Jacob, and Annabelle. Both boys graduated from TAMU. My oldest son finished graduate school there and now works in animation designing characters for Apple Arcade. My younger son is currently in grad school there in the same field of work. My daughter just graduated high school and will be soon starting college. My husband and I are now empty nesters with 3 cats. I'm very excited about working here at WCHE. As the year gets going, I am sure I will cross paths with many of you here!

    Andrea Rios - Mrs. Rios and her family live in the Lake Travis area.  All of her children are students in LTISD.  She loves being a Special Education Aide and helping our Tigers to be successful learners.

    Kim Roy --  My name is Kim Roy. As a lifelong writer and book lover, I love helping kids find their own passion for the written word. I was a social worker for several years before I decided to switch to the education field. I've been subbing in LTISD for over seven years, and I'm so excited to be at WCHE this year! I was born and raised in northern Indiana (Go, Notre Dame!), and I have lived in Austin for ten years. I have a husband named Jarrod and 2 cats.

    Johann Salas -- Mrs. Salas is the proud mother of 3 grown children - Bryan, Jeremy and Monica - and 2 grandchildren, Leilani and Liliana.  She and her husband moved to this area a couple of years ago.  They moved from Arlington, Texas, to be closer to their children and grandchildren.  They agree that it is beautiful here, and they love it!  Mrs. Salas has been a school based Occupational Therapist for over 29 years and LOVES working with students, educators, staff and parents. She has many hobbies that include arts and crafts, walking, biking, hiking and socializing with friends and family. Mrs. Salas appreciates the warm welcome into this awesome community!

    Alina Samusevich -- I'm from NY but love my new city, Austin! I've been working as a speech pathologist since 2015 and am excited to join LTISD.  When I'm not working, I love traveling with my husband and daughter.

    Candice Shrout – Holding a bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Mrs. Shrout has been an educator for over 16 years.  She and her husband have two beautiful daughters.

    Mary Kevan Smith - Ms. Mary Kevan Smith has worked in education for 4 years, most recently moving from Denton ISD. She attended West Virginia University where she earned her BA in Psychology.  She has 1 dog and loves taking her on walks and runs.  Mrs. Smith is very excited to get this school year started!

    Nestor Soto – A native of Puerto Rico, Mr. Soto was raised in Ohio.  After high school, he enlisted in the US Army, serving for 31 years before retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His jobs included Infantryman, Medic, Bomb Squad Tech and finally a commissioned officer in the Medical Service Corps. Mr. Soto is married to an Army Nurse Anesthetist, Theresa, and they have a son  named Evan Vincent who attended WCHES. Mr. Soto has a bachelors in Biology and a Masters in Education, and he is an alumni of the famed University of Oklahoma: Boomer Sooner!  He enjoys hiking, golfing and landscaping. 

    Robin Yeamans -- Hello! My name is Robin Yeamans, and I am honored to be the Educational Diagnostician/ARD Facilitator at WCHE this year. My husband, Doug, and I are high school sweethearts and just recently celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary this past July. We have called Lake Travis home since 2012 along with our son, Clayton (14), a freshman at LTHS, and daughter, Claire (10), a 5th grader at Bee Cave Elementary. I graduated from St. Edward's University with a degree in Language Arts/Elementary Education and Stephen F. Austin State University with a master's in Special Education with an Educational Diagnostician certification. I taught 3rd grade and was the dyslexia designee in AISD and Dyslexia Specialist in Hays CISD before staying at home with our children. I have been a tutor at Bee Cave Elementary, substitute teacher for the district, completed my practicum at Lake Travis Elementary school, and most recently served as the permanent substitute as the dyslexia teacher at LTHS before officially joining the Tiger Family this year. You can find us cheering on our son at basketball tournaments or daughter at tumbling and cheer competitions as well as caddying for both on the golf course! I am excited for the school year and to be a WCHE Tiger!

    Clover Yordanova - Ms. Yordanova received her undergraduate degree at SUNY New Paltz, in N.Y. state, where she earned her Elementary Education teaching certification.  She went on to volunteer for two years in the  Peace Corps in Dobrich, Bulgaria as a teacher of foreign language at Hristo Botev Elementary School. After her volunteer work, Mrs. Yordanova attended Teachers College at Columbia University, where she received her Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist ages Early Childhood to Adult.  Mrs. Yordanova holds her Reading Specialist certificate in Texas.  She has also trained at the Dyslexia Center of Austin, where she became a Certified Academic Language Therapist. She has recently become a Licensed Dyslexia teacher in the State of Texas. She has two children and three dogs.
